MASSACHUSETTES RESTAURANTS FOR CPR AND FIRST AID AHA CERTIFIED

In Massachusetts, restaurants with 25+ seats must have an employee trained in the Heimlich Maneuver (choke-saving) per shift, per M.G.L. c. 94, § 305D, and 105 CMR 590.9(E), requiring staff certified in techniques to remove lodged food. While specific MA regs detail first aid kits (105 CMR 435.25), OSHA also requires adequate supplies (bandages, gloves, etc.) and trained providers, so restaurants need to be trained and have well-stocked kits and trained staff for general injuries, CPR first aid not just choking.<br><br>Workbook's are Mandatory following AHA guidelines. The course also provides a complete health and safety training solution for choking, a child, and Infant CPR, and AED.<br><br>No pulse<br>Unconsciousness<br>CPR or cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a lifesaving procedure that is done when someone’s breathing or heartbeat has stopped. It involves:<br><br>Chest compressions to keep blood flowing, and<br>Rescue breathing to provide oxygen to the lungs.<br>One must continue these procedures until the infant’s heartbeat and breathing return, or trained medical help arrives, to prevent permanent brain damage or death which can occur within minutes if blood flow stops.<br><br>CPR can be lifesaving, but it is best done by someone trained in an accredited CPR course.
